Topic:

Elder Abuse: Supporting Clients in Vulnerable Situations

As our clients age it is increasingly common to observe situations where clients or family members may be victims of abuse or neglect.  What are the risk factors? What are the red flags? How should advisors respond? What resources are available to assist you and your clients?  Kathleen Cunningham, former Executive Director of the BC Law Institute and Canadian Centre for Elder Law, and author of STEP Canada’s 2023 Guide for Assisting Persons in Vulnerable Situations will address these questions.
